About Us
In 2022, with over 50 years of well-lived life under our belts, we were able to tick off another bucket list item: the trip to Costa Rica with the younger generation.
Saw it, fell in love with it, and bought it.
First noticed and touched during the construction of www.mansion-maeli.com
Respect and beauty are frozen.
And that's how the vision of using Guanacaste tropical timber came about. The national tree of Costa Rica.
From Tree to Treasure
The old, venerable trees, some of which live well over 100 years.
Like my 104-year-old grandmother Maruja, who passed away in 2021.
Noble and unique.
Symbol of strength
Guanacaste: more than just wood
The Guanacaste tree is the national symbol of Costa Rica – an emblem of permanence, protection, and life. With its imposing crown, it provides shade where the sun shines strongest and offers habitat for animals, insects, and plants.
Its wood is not only beautifully grained, but also extremely durable – ideal for furniture, art and handcrafted unique items.
Origin
Where it all begins: Costa Rica
Nestled in the heart of tropical forests, we collaborate with experienced artisans who have passed down their knowledge through generations. Here, each of our products is created with care, sustainability, and respect for nature.
Craftsmanship
Handcrafted work that you can see and feel
Our products are not mass-produced, but individually handcrafted. Each piece of wood is selected, sanded, and finished – a process that gives each product its own unique character.
Origin
The vast farms, where Guanacaste trees grow alongside Matapalo or Gavilán trees, spreading and providing shade, shelter, or simply a resting place for animals, are priceless treasures. The owners are proud of their diverse plantations. Meet our man «»»».
Exclusivity
The wood of the Guanacaste tree, like other tropical woods in Costa Rica, is exposed to the tropical climate on a daily basis. Sometimes it is very hot, sometimes it is confronted with continuous rain, or even tropical storms.
This makes the wood durable, strong and super elegant.
The Guanacaste selection is limited, exclusive, and high-quality. Indeed:
Natural – rare – genuine
Customer testimonials
"The bowl made of Guanacaste wood is not just an object – it is a statement." I was immediately impressed by the feel and the warm color of the wood. You can tell that real craftsmanship went into it. For me, it's more than just a decorative piece – it brings nature and elegance into my home.”
– Daniela R., interior designer from Zurich
"A gift with meaning – stylish, sustainable and unique. I ordered a vase as a gift for my sister. The quality, the design and the story behind it immediately won me over. It feels good to give something that is not only beautiful but also fairly produced."
– Thomas K., entrepreneur from Lucerne
"Exclusive, natural, responsible – exactly my style. I pay very close attention to origin and processing. The fact that they work with local family businesses and support reforestation at the same time convinced me. And the wood? Simply beautiful."
